Design, sourcing, procurement and final styling. You come home to the good bit.

  • Design and sourcing, including the vintage hunt
  • Ordering and delivery coordination
  • Assembly, hanging and heavy lifting by my install team
  • Final styling, by me

Quoted after we talk, because one room and a whole floor are different jobs. The fee is for design and styling; furniture, decor, trades and delivery are paid separately. My fee is for the eye and the hunt, so it doesn't shrink when I find you the perfect $40 table.

Started with The Vision or The Edit? That fee comes off your Make It Happen fee, if you book within 30 days.

The photo you send. The vision I send back.

A family bathroom and powder room: grey walls, black tiles and a cabinet vanity, reimagined in warm limewash with a freestanding bath, a timber vanity, brass tapware and linen at the window.

About

Hi, I'm Meg

I love beautiful houses. I just think you should be able to live in them.

I'd rather design your life into your home than style all the evidence of it out.

If you have four dog beds, we'll find a way for four dog beds to belong. If someone in your house loves their recliner, I'm not arriving with a skip bin and a lecture about good taste.

Your home has to work when nobody is taking its picture. We're making your house yours.

I'm Meg, and I started Meg Mac Style because I wanted to create homes that feel like the people who actually live there. Not like my house. Not like a showroom. And not like a photograph of a house where apparently nobody owns a phone charger.

I love interiors magazines and design books. I love extraordinary homes and new ideas. What I don't love is the way they can make a perfectly normal home, and the perfectly normal life happening inside it, feel somehow less than.

If bags land at the front door every day, we'll give them somewhere to land. If everyone gravitates to one end of the kitchen when friends come over, I want to know why. That's design information.

I love seeing what's new in design, but a trend has to earn its place in your home. If something new is beautiful, works for the way you live and will still make sense when the algorithm has moved on, I'm all for it. Sometimes that means investing in something beautiful you'll keep for years. Sometimes it means moving the chair you already own and realising it was never the wrong chair. I like old things with new things, expensive things with ordinary things, and a little bit of oddness when a room needs it.

Before interiors, I spent years as an academic and educational researcher. It might seem like a dramatic career change, but a lot of what I learned has followed me here. I listen. I ask a lot of questions. I notice things. I'm curious about people and how they live.

You don't need to know your design style before we start. You don't need to clear everything out. And you definitely don't need to hand me your house and get mine back.

Meet the team

It's just me

I can bring in trades I trust when a job needs them, but I'm the person you'll deal with, from the first chat to the last cushion. Every time.
